Despite the increase in area under coffee Kenya last decade, productivity has been on decline. Numerous production technologies have developed through on-station research but there limited on-farm to assess impact of these at farm level. On other hand, smallholder farmers are endowed differently and this would positively or negatively affect adoption recommended hence productivity.
